Custom Captioning Vocabulary

Teach the captioner your local names and terms so automated captions get them right.

Automated captions do their best work when they know your local vocabulary. You can build custom dictionaries of the names, acronyms, and terms specific to your area (council members, neighborhoods, agencies, the phrases that come up in every meeting) so the captioner spells them correctly instead of guessing. Keep separate vocabularies for different situations, such as one per city you cover, and apply the right one to each program. A vocabulary isn't required to caption a show, but for local government coverage it noticeably sharpens accuracy, which means clearer captions for the viewers who rely on them.
